I Thought Broadband Is Supposed To Be Simple These Days…

Posted in broadband / 6general

Update to the CIX API

General No Comments »

CIX has today released an update to the API.

This brings a number of updates based on feedback from our developers, including:

  • Better support for forum names containing non alphanumeric characters
  • New methods which should allow applications built on the API to download data much faster than before
  • Updated developer test console to support these new methods

Developers can take advantage of these new features today and some small fixes have been automatically applied meaning updates to applications aren’t required.

The CIX API has been indispensable for several applications, notably Bryan Boreham’s (bjb@cix) popular iXolr for iOS. The uses of the API are practically limitless, with apps for dozens of platforms and even within web applications to embed CIX Forums elsewhere being possible.
