When ICUK purchased CIX in 2011, we made plans to overhaul many aspects of the CIX platform to improve the reliability and increase the features and value of the £6.25 per month CIX account.
We’re pleased to announce that from today (11/01/2013) all CIX mailboxes have at least a 1GB quota for mail storage.
Previously, this quota was set at 50MB for CIX Desktop/OUT (£6.25 per month) and 200MB for CIX Office accounts.
The CIX £6.25 per month account now includes
o Full CIX Conferencing access via Telnet, SSH, Web, and API access
o Short snappy username@cix.co.uk email address
o Spam and virus filtered email
o Advanced webmail access
o POP3 Access for receiving
o SMTP Access for sending with authentication
o IMAP4 Access will full folder management
o 1GB mail storage on a resilient server cluster
o No mail deletion rules for legitimate mail
o TLS Support for connectivity for increased security
o 100% up time in the last 7 months
o Excellent UK Based Support
CIX mail now runs on a multi-homed load balanced mail cluster with data backed up constantly to another remote site, with the aim of providing one of the country’s most reliable email platforms.
Customers on the older style ICA-SUT/CIXIP accounts charged at £14.99 per month will have a mailbox quota set at 2GB with full POP3/IMAP access provided.
Plans are afoot to improve the features further with
o Per user spam filtering controls
o Auto set forwarding or mailbox delivery
o Auto-Responders if you’re away
If you no longer use CIX mail and wish to give it another try, but not sure on your account’s current setup, drop us an email and we’ll guide you through as required.
On an additional note, we look forward to the many people attending the London pub meet up tomorrow, details provided at cix:cix.customer/meet.up:2052
