The provisional date for migration of CIX Online and CIX Office mail servers is Tuesday 4th December. This will take place during the evening / overnight to avoid the busiest times for email.
This migration will only affect you if your mail program is set to use mail.cixonline.com or mail.cixoffice.com.
We are not expecting any problems, but if you are concerned about your CIX email we would recommend that you contact us to arrange for a manual migration, we can then check with you that your email is working after migration on a case by case basis. If we do a manual migration the only change you will need to make is your email server to mail.cix.co.uk, we can talk you through this over the phone.
If you don’t ask for a manual migration and leave your email to be migrated along with everyone else on the 4th, no changes will need to be made to any of your settings.
Once migrated:
The new server will have slightly different mail headers so if you use email headers for email delivery rules you may need to change these.
There will not be a security certificate on mail.cixonline.com or mail.cixoffice.com. There is a security certificate on mail.cix.co.uk so please use this mail server. If you use Ameol this won’t affect you.
The new servers do not provide AUTH=CRAM-MD5, if you want encrypted sessions (which we advise) please use STARTTLS. If you use Ameol this won’t affect you.
If you have any queries about this, please contact us via cix:cix.support/3support.
